About Tae Kwon Do

The Tae Kwon Do Club, University of Wisconsin practices with two formal instruction periods per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays and an open gym workout on Sundays. TKD, UW is not formally affiliated with any Tae Kwon Do association. This is so TKD, UW may assure "student friendly" club dues and belt testing fees. Training at TKD, UW will help you improve your fitness performance, self-confidence, coordination, power development, and self-esteem, while learning Tae Kwon Do sparring (kyorugi), Tae Kwon Do forms (hyung), as well as Tae Kwon Do basic and advance techniques training from Tae Kwon Do instructors with a variety of credentials.

The club dues are $30/year or $20/semester and are mainly used for purchasing training equipment. Students are expected to provide their own sparring gear. Sparring gear can be ordered with a TKD, UW discount. Testing is $10, which pays for the belt that is being tested for and boards that are broken as part of the test.
